Stacey has held numerous high-level editorial positions in her journalism
career, including stints as Fortune’s Hollywood correspondent and
New York magazine’s first-ever Hollywood Editor. Before that she spent
nearly six years as The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards & Special Projects
Editor, overseeing industry power-lists, awards coverage and special issues.

Stacey was raised in Portland, Oregon by Illinois-native parents
(Italian mom; farm-bred dad) and earned a B.A. in Professional Writing
and Spanish from the University of Puget Sound. After starting her editorial
career at Microsoft, she earned an M.S. in journalism from Columbia
University and, prior moving to L.A. in 2010, logged six years as People
magazine’s Northwest-based correspondent. She also has written for L.A. Magazine, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, Playboy, IndieWire, EW, TV Guide, Variety, The Oregonian and Portland Monthly, and has earned numerous kudos for her work, including Society of Professional Journalists, FOLIO and L.A. Press Club awards.

Stacey is also a prolific Hollywood host, regularly moderating high-profile events for HBO, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Searchlight Pictures, Focus Features and many others. From 2012 to 2015, she produced and hosted the Emmy-nominated roundtable series Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter, which aired on SundanceTV. In 2021, she hosted One Burning Question, the official after-show for Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale. She’s also become a busy podcaster, including producing, writing and hosting two seasons of Nat Geo’s The Making Of; guest-hosting Showtime’s Dexter reboot podcast; and serving as host, writer and producer of Inventing Anna: The Official Podcast, for
Shonda Rhimes’ hit Netflix series.

Currently a Contributing Editor for The Hollywood Reporter, Stacey lives just down the hill from the Hollywood sign with her Texan-screenwriter husband Kris Hunt and a black-and-white Shih Tzu named Buddy.
