Dr. Rachel Raimist is a formerly tenured college professor turned television director who works across genres. She recently directed episodes of THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES (Disney+), UP HERE (Hulu) and SEX/LIFE (Netflix). She has also directed beloved episodes of THE SEX LIVES OF COLLEGE GIRLS (HBO Max), WU-TANG: AN AMERICAN SAGA (Hulu), FANTASY ISLAND (Fox), DIARY OF A FUTURE PRESIDENT (Disney+) and others. Raimist holds a B.A. and a M.F.A. in Directing from the UCLA and a M.A. in Women’s Studies and a Ph.D. in Feminist Studies from the University of Minnesota. At the DGA, she serves as the Co-Chair on several committees. In her free time, she offers low costs classes on the craft and industry of film and television through ThePeoplesFilmSchool.com.
