Phillip Sanders

As a Partner, Phil plays a pivotal role in our organization, focusing on expanding partnerships, enhancing our funder portfolio, and increasing investment capacity. Additionally, he leads the charge in spearheading new initiatives aimed at supporting early-stage startups dedicated to advancing and scaling progressive infrastructure.

Phil brings a wealth of experience to his role, having served in various capacities at Ernst & Young and Rockwood Capital, where he managed financial responsibilities for clients spanning technology, real estate, and venture capital sectors. Prior to joining NMV, Phil held positions as a Fellow at Kapor Capital and an Investment Accounting Manager at the Kapor Center, where he oversaw investment processes and financial operations within the fund.

Beyond his professional commitments, Phil is deeply engaged in advising early-stage startups and serves as the Board Chair at the Ella Baker Center in Oakland. Through these endeavors, Phil brings together thought leaders, innovators, supporters, and investors to cultivate communities and startups with a focus on social good.
