Chris Debiec

Christopher Debiec is an award-winning writer/producer/executive with an impressive thirty-year track record in all aspects of the entertainment industry starting his career in Orlando, FL with credits including Sylvester Stallone’s Oscar and The Crow for Miramax. Chris relocated to Los Angeles to work on such films as The Devil’s Advocate and Mad City for Warner Brothers, The Out of Towners for Paramount Studios, and the ground breaking “first of its kind” live-action animation Dinosaur for Walt Disney Studios.

In November of 2000, Chris took on the most challenging project of his career to date spending six months in war torn, poverty-stricken Cambodia, as the Production Supervisor on Matt Dillon’s directorial film debut City of Ghosts for MGM/UA.

From 2000-2006 Chris was called on by Academy Award-winning writer/director/producer, James Cameron to produce the two-hour documentary Last Mysteries of Titanic & Expedition Bismarck for The Discovery Channel, 3D IMAX films Aliens of the Deep & Ghosts of the Abyss for Walt Disney Pictures. Expedition: Bismarck was nominated for six Emmys winning one. From 2010 to 2017, Chris was recruited as the VP of Production at Entertainment One Television (eOne), where he spearheaded the alternative programming division. In 2019, Chris was Production Executive for A24’s The Green Knight, a feature film which shot on location in Ireland.

Mr. Debiec relocated to Austin, Texas and as CEO/Founder, immediately established the Texas Media Coalition (TMC), an entertainment advocacy group with the aim of creating a beneficial and sustainable multi-billion-dollar tax-incentive program. With the strength of the TMC, the state of Texas increased their incentive from $45mm for two years to a game changing $200mm. The biggest increase seen in over ten years. Currently, as CEO of Civilized Entertainment, Chris has built an award-winning studio focusing on the development and production of content directly related Science and Technology.
