Megan Macmillan is Senior Vice President of Comedy Development at Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. In this role, she manages day-to-day development of the studio’s comedy slate across a variety of platforms. She reports to Jim Donnelly, Executive Vice President of Comedy Development at Universal Television.

Macmillan has been involved in developing multiple comedies for NBCUniversal’s home platforms, including “Killing It,” starring and executive produced by Craig Robinson, and “Bupkis,” starring, written and executive produced by Pete Davidson. Additionally, she has been integral in the development of Universal Television’s dynamic streaming slate with series such as “Girls5eva” for Netflix, “Schigmadoon!” for Apple TV+ and “Harlem” for Prime Video.

She joined Universal Television as Manager of Comedy Development in 2016 and quickly rose through the ranks, having been elevated to Vice President in 2019 and Senior Vice President in 2022. Before her time at the studio, Macmillan was a creative executive in both television and film at Davis Entertainment. She previously held roles at Sony Pictures Television in comedy development and CAA.

Macmillan has a bachelor’s degree in Cinema-Television from the University of Southern California. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her family.
