Jonathan Dworkin is Executive Vice President of Digital Business Development and Strategy at Universal Music Group, the world leader in music-based entertainment. Dworkin and his team lead UMG’s digital deal making globally, working closely with the company’s senior management team to develop digital strategy, cultivate key partnerships and advance the digital business. He is responsible for overseeing the integration of the company’s digital strategy throughout its global organization.

Dworkin has more than two decades of music industry experience, spanning both creative and executive roles, and spent the early part of his career managing some of the world’s most revered hip-hop producers including J Dilla, Pete Rock and Grammy award-winning duo Goodandevill. Dworkin was an early pioneer of mobile music, helping launch Lagardere SCA’s mobile division with groundbreaking original content brands.

Following Lagardere, Dworkin held executive positions at the then world’s largest mobile phone producer, Nokia, where he where he was instrumental in licensing Nokia’s music services, including the innovative Comes with Music product, across 38 countries. Subsequently, he served as CMO for Nokia Music’s successor program, MixRadio, leading the markets organization responsible for global execution and marketing.

Prior to joining UMG in 2016, Dworkin also led the digital business development team at Warner Music Group, where he helped prepare the company for the broader transition to streaming and negotiated global agreements with Spotify, Apple and YouTube, among many others.

Dworkin holds a BA from Colgate University and an MBA from Columbia University.
