Andrew Gounardes

Andrew Gounardes is a champion for the working class and middle-class families that are the backbone of New York, and a State Senator representing the 26th State Senate District in Brooklyn, New York. Since his election in 2019, Senator Gounardes has written and passed key legislation to fight skyrocketing hospital costs, expand school zone speed cameras, and protect workers’ rights, and worked tirelessly for a better New York that is fair, safe, affordable and gives everyone an opportunity to thrive. He currently is the lead sponsor of the Child Data Privacy and Protection Act, which seeks to prevent the exploitation of children’s data, ban certain data collection and advertising targeted to kids, and more. He lives with his wife and two sons in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
