Antonio Pita

Antonio Pita is co-founder and COO of Diaspora.Black, a black tourism startup present in 15 countries. In 2022, he received the Folha Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award, in the Community Solutions category. Born in Salvador (Bahia), he is a journalist and has worked as a reporter for major vehicles. After experiencing situations of racism while traveling, in 2016 he created the startup with the purpose of connecting and promoting the culture of the African diaspora, giving visibility to black cultural heritage in tourism portfolios. As COO, he created and coordinated social impact projects aimed at qualifying Afro entrepreneurs and at developing new tourist experiences to value black culture, impacting more than 40,000 people.
